We have been shopping there for 12 years. Previously we gave Harris Teeter Whetstone 4.5 stars. We are downgrading to 3 stars because they stopped carrying whole-wheat pasta of any kind—they have been cutting down for years, and are now down to none. The same has happened to whole-wheat hamburger and hot-dog buns—they have none anymore. Many weeks, the Silk organic soy unsweetened is often completely sold out. They say they have low-sodium tomato juice, or the truck has not come in yet, but for two years it has not come in, so we buy it at nearby Giant Grocery (along with whole-wheat pasta and other items). Low-sodium canned foods are now harder to find on shelves. Earth Balance spread in stick form is no longer there. The pharmacy has been good. If we cannot get staple foods at Harris Teeter, we might as well find a new store.

I don’t take many prescriptions and HT has always been efficient in fulfilling what I do take. However, I recently had a new prescription and was told by the doctor to take one pill each morning. After taking a full pill for the first several days, I noticed the label indicated that the pills needed to be cut in half to get to the required dosage. I never had a prescription filled that required splitting the pill. I wish someone had told me when I picked up the prescription.

I can only rely on this pharmacy for the most basic prescriptions. Their system has some serious flaws, both with shipping/restock times for medications with strict pick-up windows, and losing track of prescriptions and claiming they never received them (even though I got the notification that the Rx was received, and filled, and confirmed with the doctor they sent it several times). Two specific incidents with medication that I will report. 1. The first medicine I have to have filled monthly, and there is a strict pick-up window. If I do not pick up the medication within 7 days after my office visit, I have to repeat the office visit. This pharmacy could never get this right, I had to switch to a new pharmacy because they could not order the medication on time, and i kept having to go back to the doctor, pay for another office visit, redo my labwork, because the Rx was not filled in time. 2. The second medicine is for my dog, I also refill on a pretty regular basis. It was all going fine, until the 1-yr Rx ran up. I got the notification, that a new Rx was needed, so I contacted the vet to have it refilled. The vet sent it on 10/29. I did not receive any updates from the pharmacy, so I called back on 6/3 to inquire. The pharmacy said they didn't receive the Rx. I reached back out to the vet, they said they would resend it. I got a message shortly after that conversation with the vet, from the pharmacy, stating that my Rx has been received, but not ready for pick-up yet. Great. A few hours later, I get the text that the Rx is ready for pickup, on 6/4. In the morning the next day, I get a reminder about this Rx being ready for pickup, so I head into the pharmacy. I get there, and they say they're still waiting for the Rx from the vet!!! I was like, no, the vet actually has sent it twice now, etc., and then showed the tech my texts. She said well, we never received it so I don't know why you got that message. No interest in troubleshooting. Anyway, I am going to get all of my prescriptions changed, because though Harris Teeter is the most convenient, it is not convenient to have to have my Rx spread across several pharmacies.

This place is pretty terrible now, really gone downhill. Used to be really good but now prescriptions aren’t on time, staff is super rude, and lines are really long.

I got my prescription filled in a good enough time here. Low co-pay. Place to sit and rest nearby.
