A S 9 months agoMade an appointment to get vaccines here and the on duty pharmacist (bald white guy) asked for my insurance. He glanced at the card and without even running it in the computer he said that they don’t take it and I would have to get it through my (hospital) employer. I called my insurance and they said that this was not the case. Made an appointment at CVS instead and had no issues.
Larissa Herrin a year agoThis pharmacy used to be the easiest for me to fill one of my medications at, until I went to pick up today and was told I had a $200 copay on one medication. I knew this wasn't correct, however the tech at the drive-thru wouldn't further explain or anything. She just kept repeating that I owed $200 for my meds. I sought assistance from my usual pharmacy, who verified with my insurance that I actually had a $100 copay, not $200, and that there were manufacturer coupons that could easily have been applied, making my rx only $10. There were no cars behind me and it would have taken the tech very little effort and extra time to help me out. There were easily 5-6 staff members in the pharmacy visible, and while I understand that the demands on the staff are high and they're short-handed, treating a patient this was is really unacceptable. I am yet again thankful for the independently-owned, small-town pharmacy that couldn't fill this rx themselves, yet went out of their way to find the coupons for me and transfer this rx somewhere that I could fill it without any issue. Shame on this Walgreens for laziness and for how the tech treated me. I'm disappointed.
Casey Thurston 8 months agoI had to use a telehealth doctor because I don’t have insurance and they won’t fill my prescription because the doctor is out of state.
Gabrielle Jacobi 2 years agoIt’s wild how bad this pharmacy is. I don’t think all of the blame should be on the employees; I think it’s a corporate issue and Walgreens keeps every aspect of their stores minimally staffed in order to maximize their profits. There’s never anyone working, and when there is it’s like a single person to handle a line full of people. The understaffing also means that they don’t do any sort of due diligence in filling your prescriptions. It has happened to me multiple times where there’s been an issue with insurance or my doctor. Instead of telling me there’s any sort of issue, they just don’t do anything. I’ll wait a week for a prescription to be filled, call to ask about its status, and an employee will tell me there’s an issue on another end that I need to take care of. Like who was going to tell me? How was I supposed to guess that? Pharmacists are rude and short to you, but probably because they’re continuously overworked and understaffed. Pretty much every time I go to pick up a prescription, the entire pharmacy is closed down for a randomly timed lunch break. The whole thing wouldn’t need to shut down for an hour every day if you just adequately staffed your pharmacy. I would go literally anywhere else that was within a reasonable distance if my insurance would let me. But because of the absolutely stellar healthcare industry in this country, I will be forced to continue using this pharmacy and wanting to stick needles in my eyes every time I have to go.
Eric Miller 2 years agoLast month I made an appointment at this pharmacy for a tetanus shot. I was told that pharmacies in Oklahoma aren't authorized to give shots for tetanus, "only whopping cough." This is simply untrue, as demonstrated by the fact that I was easily able to get a tetanus shot the next day at another Walgreen's location (one with a more competent and attentive staff).
