Worst customer experience. Provide all the documents they need to bill my insurance company, and, for some reason, none of the staff had any clue how to bill it. One of them mentioned that one of their co-workers knew how to bill my VA insurance, but they refused to call for help. How are you not going to know how to bill the insurance company correctly when that part of your task is before you can activate a prescription? The only way to get my medication is by paying in cash. Walgreens needs to figure out how to ensure its employees are properly trained. If I did not need my medication to sleep without any pain, I would have walked out. Also, their tech became very combative, which is not acceptable from healthcare workers. The worst part is that they wasted over 30 minutes on a $12 bill. My time is more valuable, which makes it extra annoying.

This used to be an amazing pharmacy and now it is the absolute worst. I have been coming here for over 10 years and I have never seen a pharmacy be this mediocre. The waits are always well over an hour, the staff are not helpful and are either uneducated or uncaring. Even if you try calling, you will be on hold for an hour and then they will hang up on you. I am leaving Walgreens all together because of how horrible my experiences have been the past several months at the pharmacy in the Castro. It’s unacceptable for a pharmacy to be this bad.

This Walgreens in the Castro is a reliable go-to for essentials, prescriptions, and quick stops. The store is well-organized, shelves are usually stocked, and it’s easy to find what you need without wandering around. Pharmacy service is efficient, and staff are professional and helpful, even when it gets busy. The location is super convenient, the store feels clean and safe, and it’s a solid option whether you’re a local or just passing through the neighborhood. Definitely one of the better Walgreens locations in San Francisco.

They didn't have all of my prescriptions ready. Said I have to wait 3 days until one of them came in they had to order it and look at the line. It took me 45 min to get to the front. To here they weren't ready. And there isn't enough space to wait in line and the employees keep telling you to move. Move where!?????!

This is the Pharmacy that you and your family needs at 2:30am when your child can't stop coughing, or you need an energy drink or supplements to pick you up. It's all here, diapers and bottles and all 24/7! Shopping here is easier than ordering it online.... because you can get it now! I highly recommend the place, the staff are always extremely helpful.
